Growing up in a single-parent household, I quickly learned the value of money and the importance of financial control at a very young age. My mum would always tell me that “money doesn’t grow on trees” and it still resonates with me to this very day. You could say I was destined to be a Chartered Accountant, and after 15 years of working on my craft in public practice and for multinational corporations, I now provide Virtual CFO services to SMEs.
My role as a Virtual CFO is to help business owners instil financial control within their business. I do this by reviewing their business systems and processes for any inefficiencies and then implementing effective solutions to promote stability and success. I would then implement a financial reporting function to provide monthly performance reports and 3-way forecasts to help facilities ongoing strategic decision making and to hold the business owner accountable.
